About

Behind the lens and pen

Welcome to my gallery. Photography is one of the most important ways to document our history, or to bring artistic value to a moment in time. Sometimes it is a place we can return to in our imagination. My love for photography began in 1996 when my creative voice emerged in the form of creative writing, art and capturing “life” with my Pentax. Photography gave me the freedom to fully express my visions. I began with film and fell in love with black and white images. I will never forget the first time I picked up a blank, wet piece of photo paper from a chemical bath in the darkroom and watched the image I had taken come to life. The feeling was unforgettable. Technology has hugely advanced since then, yet the raw relationship of vision to visual is constant.

A little about me personally, my family is my world. The eight stars on my logo represent my 8 nieces and nephews. I am the oldest of six and my mother is my best friend. I am a native Floridian with much travel and life experience that enriches my ability to connect to people and nature. I am a mountain bike rider, fancy lunch diner, enjoy strong friendships, living peacefully, movies, rainy days, health driven, yet have a weakness for pastries. Traveling near or far exhilarates me, I love feeling anonymous in quaint towns.

I have been dedicated to writing for over 30 years and have written dozens of stories, although I am only now beginning my publishing journey polishing and rewriting these stories. I recently completed a middle grade novel titled, Hiroshi and The Red Ball, which I originally wrote as a children’s story 27 years ago. Currently, I am working on my next novel, which I wrote the notes and bones for 8 years ago.

My photographic studies include Palm Beach Community College (now PB State) and The University of Washington, although mostly self-taught. My writing path began in Japan in 1992, but a large amount of my work was written or imagined in 1996 when I spent the summer in Nantucket. I have been writing solidly since.

There is so much to explore, to see, to imagine. It is my mission to bring such moments to you with excellence, expressive vision and superior quality whether it be a print of an image or words in a story. My hope is to leave you with a fresh perspective that settles your soul with peace or invigorates you with inspiration.

My Very Best,

Wendy Seale
